Hola a todos!
How are you all? Espero que super bien!!
Ok, exciting news- we can go outside!!! A little bit! The government put out a schedule for everyone, so from 6-10am you can go out and exercise, 10-12 elderly people can go out for a walk, 12-8 kids can be outside, and 8-11pm we can go out again and exercise/walk! We've been going out twice a day for two days and it's heaven. I'm finally getting to see some of Mostoles and it's been so fun. Our friend James who has a baptismal date is still excited and progressing! He might be moving back home to Peru in June, so we're hoping to be able to get the Capilla (chapel) open in time to meet his date of May 16. Heavenly Father has a plan and we've already seen so many quarantine miracles here, I'm sure everything will work out the way it should!
Also, we're teaching a girl named Cherry from Taiwan! She lives in Madrid! She's learning Spanish, we teach her in English, and she prays in Mandarin. She's the cutest human being, and said yes when we invited her to pray about baptism!
Facebook finding is an interesting thing. It works, but you have to go through a lot of different people to find the ones who are prepared and interested in our message. We taught this one man named Cristian, who I found on Facebook, over video call 2 or 3 times. He had the number for my companion and me on WhatsApp, but then he would still message me separately on Facebook. He was trying to play this game with us where he asked us questions, and he asked us if we had boyfriends back in the states. My companion replied, saying we both do, and he responded and said: "oh that's cool!" Then a minute later I got a message on FB from him, saying "you have a boyfriend?" Lots of crying emojis and gifs followed. It was kind of funny. But then, he sent me a voice memo. He had written me a song and was singing and playing guitar. Some of the lyrics were "Carlson, no puedo mas"(Carlson, I can't anymore) "Da una oportunidad" (give me a chance), etc. He sent another voice memo of him crying, saying his heart was broken. We had to drop him, and I was very confused throughout the entire ordeal.
I'm excited to be able to street contact (I've only done it once). On our walk, this morning, my companion and I found a bakery that was surprisingly open. We talked to this lady that was buying something, and I don't know what it is, but talking to people face to face is so much better. We didn't talk about the gospel, but it was just nice to have a conversation with someone outside. And I'm excited to meet all of our cute amigos soon! And go to church at the Capilla! Quarantine has been filled with blessings and miracles, but I'm definitely looking forward to learning what it's like to be more of a traditional missionary as well.
I love you all! I wish I could give you all abrazos fuertes through the screen! I hope you have a great week and remember that you're all children of Heavenly Father with individual talents and unique attributes! He loves you and so do I! If you need anything, I'm always here
Besos!
